Week 15: Na Mele Ko Makuahine
BOT:
Aloha auinala UFOhana! Hope this finds you all healthy and well. As you may all know I’m back from visiting with my Makuahine. She’s well on her way to recovery and is thankful to all of the UFOhana for your prayers and thoughts of well being to her. I should her some of your pictures and she actually remember a few of you from her last visit here.
So in honor of all mothers everywhere I’ve decided to make Friday “Mother’s Song” night. So you can interpret this a nubmer of ways as songs about Moms, your Mom’s favorite song or may even the ‘Mother’ of all songs? I’m sure there’s a bunch out there.
Mahalo Nui Loa to Amy and Brudda Bu for Hosting Friday Night at the ‘Mt. Shasta’ out post. I understand you all had a good time. I even got some songs to add to the our UFOhana Volume 2 Flight Manual. Which is mostly done! So please do pass any songs you’d like added to the book my way ASAP! We’re currently at about 230 pages, about 40 more than Volume! Almost all are new songs contributed by your fellow UFOhana Pilots. Mahalo Nui to all that contributed.
As for food? Let’s go with “Heart Healthy'” this time . . .
Below are some photos from Uke Night 040111, Na Mele O Pua night. Mahalo to Donna for manning the camera once again!

Below: View from outside standing next to my old bedroom window . . . it’s a Lychee tree I planted about 35 years ago. Barely 2 feet tall back then . . . my brothers and I built the retaining wall behind it. Runs about 40 feet long and about 10 feet high. We carved the hillside out by hand . . . it was then I realized construction work wasn’t my thing. Though Mom was really happy when we were done. The storage shed was built by my brother to keep his gear stowed in.
Below: A few of Mom and Dad’s grand and one great grand keiki . . . of course there was food involved at this gathering . . .

Ok, more photos later! Can’t wait to start strumming again!
Uke-Ku
A Cloud floats softly,
Tenderly she smiles upward,
