Week 18: 050310 – Person, Place or Thing – 2 out of 3 . . .
BOT:
Aloha Ahi Ahi Fellow Strummers!
Another great Kanikapila past and another one on the horizon. Hope you’re all doing well so far. I understand that some of us are still out with that nasty cold, Malama Pono to you all.
Mahalo Nui Loa to those of you that made last week’s Pua Songs Kanikapila sooooo fabulous. Both musically and from an epicurean stand point. Da’ KauKau was ono-licious! Mahalo Nui Patty for the delicious Eyjafjallajökull (EU15 aka the Iceland Volcano) Drink and for helping me with the clean up of that heinous eruption I survived . . . Mahalo Nui to Lonnie for the great Bongo-ing, to Matt and Kapiolani for being such good sports and sharing a Solo for us on their first visits. Maika’i (Well done).
Again, Mahalo Nui Loa to Amy and all of you for your generous donations to the “Yellow Box”. It has certainly help defray the increase PG&E Bills, photo copies, water, sundries, and the like. Btw, who picked the Plate Color this week? I don’t recall picking one. Anyway, Mahalo to those Menehunes that keep helping with the clean up. I love you guys!
An explanation of this week’s music theme. So Rick, Sandy and I, were hanging out at Bogie’s (aka the UFO Squadron Rec. Center) this past weekend agonizing over what to do for this week’s theme. Well the weekend went by with no inkling. So Monday comes and Sandy comes up with a Fantastic Idea: “Person, Place or Thing, 2 out of 3”! Huh, Huh, do you get it????? Ok, so the song has to have a minimum of 2 of the 3 elements in it. Get it? No brainer for Hawaiian music right?
As for food I’ll let you guys figure out that one. But I’m thinking that shouldn’t be too hard either? Of course I wouldn’t know not being a Chef and all that.
Anyway there you have it and below images from last week and the May Day event at Megumi-san’s place . . . enjoy:

Above Left to right: Lovely Kapiolani, Kukana and Linaka . . . Center: Our very own Eyjafjallajokull (aka Iceland E15 Volcano) drink maker, Patty.
Below left: Palapala feels the music. Below right center: Lonnie (Bongo Man) and Donna.

Below Throughout: Aunty Mahealani does Hula for the UFOhana . . . btw, click here to see Aunty do Makee Ailana.
