Week 26 – 070309: Hump Week!

BOT:

Alooooha Ahi Ahi UFOhana!

Woa! Can you believe it??? Week 26!!! We’re already half way through the year!

A little disappointment today, Luc’s Brand new bike (for his 8th Grade Graduation) was actually stolen from our Garage while Pua was doing laundry! Can you believe it? This use to be such a quiet neighborhood too!

Oh well at least it’s cooled down today. Just hoping that the weather will be better in Hawaii. Now there’s something to look forward to.

Hawaii? You say? Did I mention we’d be there soon? Actually this will be the last Uke Night at Hangar 1585 for about 3 weeks. We’ll be in touch via email and the blog.

The next Uke Night will be sponsored by Brudda Bu and Amy at their beautiful abode in Smith Ranch. Mahalo Bu and Amy for Sponsoring Uke Night 07/10/09 and keeping the Strumming alive! Ok, you’ve been warned, so don’t be surprised if the Palm Tree is dark next week! Just head on out the Lucas Valley Hangar. Here's Bu and Amy's address: 353 Mt. Shasta Drive, Lucas Valley. Be sure to bring your own music stands too!

Once again, Mahalo Nui Loa to all the great Friday’s past you’ve all shared with the Medina Ohana. We’ll miss you all dearly, especially on Fridays.

I hope that some day enough of us could gather on Oahu someday for a evening Kanikapila in Kapiolani Paka! I know, I know, but hey . .  it could happen . . .

So for this week’s food theme: “Healthy Patriotic Foods” , kind of a stretch huh? I guess a Red, White and Blue Tofu slab would be Patriotic and uh, healthy?

Mahalo also for the Great Hats you folks share this Past Hat Night! Check it out below and a Hauoli La Hanau to Brudda Wahle! Brudda, you don’t look a year over 50! Mahalo Amy and Bu for the fabulous Gardenias too!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Brudda Al is making his swimming pool available to the UFOhana for an indefinite time! I guess to help cool us down during the summer. Please leave a comment if you're interested in 'borrowing' his pool. Mahalo Nui Al!

Man I really dig Sandy’s cool Safety Orange Number! Check out the Solo Director’s chapeau . . .

Really Bu? Panama hats don’t come from Panama?

Isn’t Amy’s Peruvian Number amazing?

Uke-Ku
—————
Air flickers with heat,
The road Shimmers like water,
Cool tunes from my uke.

Hope to see you folks one last time before we He’le on to Hawai’i!

Aloha A Hui Hou,

A truly patriotic salad containing red particles (TBD) in a white and blue bowl. And I'm so disgusted about the bike. There was so much other stuff of interest in your garage!
