Week 12 - 2009: Brittni Paiva Night!
BOT:
Aloha Ahi Ahi UFOhana!
Well here we are in the middle of the week. I hope work’s been kind to you all. At least the weather has.
We have an exciting Uke Night coming up! Brittni Paiva will be joining us for a Kanikapila and Mini Concert!

Check out her website: http://www.brittnipaiva.com/performances.htm
We will be starting out the night with a Shabbat (sp?) ceremony to honor Brittni’s religion. Conducted by our very on Bolos, followed by our usual Kanikapila, with Brittni joining us of course. Followed by dinner and then a mini-concert by Brittni. Brittni will be selling her CDs and memorabilia throughout the night.
Also, Herb’s April Classes are still open for sign up. Please take note of Susan’s email below:

Btw, here are some photos (Mahalo to Palapala for sharing these) from our 09th Anniversary:
Btw, this Friday will be the anniversary of 1st long-distance telephone call, Boston-New York, performed in 1884. Woa, is the phone really that old? So in honor of that event I’m thinking we could go with “Food You Call” or “Far Away Foods”? Ok, I’m reaching again, Operator?

SPRING BREAK BABY! Had to get that off my chest.
I will be there bringing Paella(sans garlic), that's from far away Spain.

OK, the rebbe will be there to officiate the shabbat in honor of the Paiva ohana. We'll be blessing the wine and bread (challah), and I'll be needing help from the ladies to bless shabbat as the candles are lit. Once we do that, then we follow up with the ritual schmecklele check (ask Tommy

I'll bring sushi, maybe some with smoked salmon. The ginger is sort of pickled--does that count?

That sure does! And especially in that combo!

OK, as the lone member of the lost Filipino tribe of the chosen people (think John Goodman in "The Big Lebowski"), I'll bring something suitably kosher for shabbat. How about a nice lemon-almond cake. I'll bring the schmecklele, too, but won't be playing it. For that matter, due to the bum wing, I probably won't be playing uke and will just bring a drum to bang on.

Lost Pilipino Tribe? Ay Sus, isn't dat the last Tribe of Mindanao? Glad to hear you'll be joining us?
Drum on Pa're!

Sorry I will miss tonight due to the passing of our dog companion, Stella.
Fortunately, was able to see Brittni and family at Mike DaSilva's on Sunday.
You're gonna love her!
Looking forward to next week...
