Week 6 – 2009

Aloha Ahi Ahi UFOhana!

The Rains have returned. Not enough to end the drought but better than nothing. Please be careful this Friday as the landing strip to Hangar 1585 maybe wet and slick.

Here we are at the end of Week 6. Lots of change under way locally and in our nation but one thing is constant and that is Kanikapila Night! Wooohoooo! annnnnnnd another long weekend!!!!!!!  Woooooohooooo! Ok, ‘nuf cheer for now . . .

I understand that the Flu Bug is still making its rounds so keep washing your hands out there.

Mahalo Nui, once again, to the intrepid ones that made it out last week and added to the great KauKau and Kanikapila last Friday. Also welcome back to Patty! So nice to see you again, it’s been too long! Below, a few ‘thousand words’ of last Friday…

On to the Food Theme: “Lucky Foods” to honor Friday the 13th. Please no ‘Jason’ favorites now.

Btw, speaking of unlucky, did anyone else catch the video of the Tornado in Honolulu? Sadly, I understand there was one fatality.

And as a reminder about this Sunday’s Event at Tiki Tom’s, I’m posting Tennyson Lum’s email below:

We'd love two seats at the table on Sunday, please. Don't need carpool, but if anyone is going from Richmond area, happy to give a ride.

For tonight, a giant Mexican theme casserole- maybe we can come up with 13 ingredients...

Thank you so much for making Maureen welcome. She really wants to learn the ukulele. Her Mom is from Guam and she said the Hawaiian language was similar to Chamorro. Anyone know a Chamorro song?
Her Uncle in Guam plays ukulele.
I'm bringing stuffed cabbage tonight. For the scary stuff, it will be a wicked concoction.
