OK, Almost There . . .

BOT:

Hauoli Maka Hiki Hou UFOhana!

Hope you all have great (safe) time celebrating this coming New Year!

It's been a Year of Change for the Medina Household, tough at times, but at least, all for the good.

On behalf of Pua, Lucas, Max and Myself we give our Mahalo to our extended Ohana for being there for us. We are thankful for having an Ohana that brings such great Aloha and Mana into our Hale. We can't thank you all enough.

I hope the following year will be as fulfilling and fun as this one was and brings happiness and prosperity into all our lives (not necessarily in that order).

For this Friday's food them it was suggested that we do a DIYS Night! You know Do It Yourself Saimin? Sounds like a great idea for these cold Winter Nights.

What is Saimin and what must you bring to partake (aside from an empty stomach)?

Here are some suggestions for you newbie saimin-ers...
tofu, BBQ pork (char siu), fishcake, teriyaki beef sticks, teri chicken, fried spam, cooked veggies like bok choy, spinach, napa cabbage, etc. Also fried shrimp tempura is good. Mmmmm-m can't wait! And if you just can't figure out what to bring, just bring what you want!

Thanks Honey! Btw, here's a good example of what a DIYSaimin dish should look like when properly constructed:

Of course this is more of the traditional type than those on www.Kahua51.org .

Hope everyone is safe and dry today.

Providing the Richmond bridge cooperates, we'll bring char siu, fresh shitake mushrooms, marinated carrot slices and shredded steamed dino kale.

    Looking forward to it.

So sorry. We're not gonna make it tonight. Trying to help with water damage at the library...

Sending safe thoughts to all. See you next week.
