Aloha Ahi Ahi!

BOT:

Good Afternoon UFOhana!

Was it just me or was that one incredible Last Friday Uke Night????? In fact wasn't that one great week all together? Somebody Pinch Me!

Again, Mahalo Nui to Mr. B for including the UFOhana in the week's events. Truly an honor to perform at such a historical event (as far as Ukuleles go). Mahalo to Al Dodge, Carey, Uncle Ken and Donley for assisting us with the Meles. We hope John and Richard had a great time as well.

On behalf of the The Medina Ohana, we thank all those Menehunes that keep cleaning up after those that 'forget' every Friday night and to that special Tiki Bar Menehune that keeps our thirsts quenched and 'Spirits high'. Mahalo, Mahalo, Mahalo!

Ok, so for this week's Food Theme, I'm thinking "Venusian Foods" in honor of the landing of the Magellan Spacecraft landing on Venus this Friday in 1990. So I guess that could also mean Foods that are beautiful, since Venus was the Goddess of beauty? Or was that Christy Brinkley? Or maybe something having to do with Venice? Anyway, there it is.

Btw, as many of you may know, we're going to participate in the Nicasio Luau once again. If you're participating please practice the songs from our '06' Gig book. Also, I've got 4 tables available for those of you that want to do the UFOhana Flea Market thing too. Remember that you'll be responsible for your own finances if you're doing the UFO FM.

Btw, I'm working on an 'update' to the book based on new Hawaiian, Hapa Haole and other solo songs from the past. I'm hoping to save a little on the printing (and some trees) by just updating your existing manuals, so don't through them away just yet.

Sweet tones float lightly,
Images of ancient times,
The Little Stick sings.

Aloha A Hui Hou,

Boy! That was fun! I don't know about anyone else, but I felt the presence of the ukulele muse. I felt like I've never played better or sang better, I could even tackle those tricky Hawaiian words. On the way home I was singing with the radio and composing love songs for Debbie. WOW!

Anyway. Speaking of Debbie, she is hosting a sleep over for her niece and my youngest, so that me and Siera can come on down.

    AND, I've got a new uke! WOOO-HOOO!

We will bring Flan, which is baked like Venus' surface. See Ya!

Aloha, Del & ohana: Thank you for hosting such an amazing evening last Friday...it really was a true meeting of the musical minds and spirits! ....I also must salute the Tiki Bar menehune for the best mojitos ever created, I did have my share, mahalo pumehana.

Sorry to miss this Friday due to my birthday celebration with my ohana of origin, in of all places, Bakersfield....where our fearless and much beloved leader was known to have performed roller skating feats to boggle the imagination. Having reached the respected age of kupuna, I insist that videos known to exist of these skating feats, must be shown at some future time.....Linda, and others concur.

Hope to see you at Nicasio, and the Friday before for practice. I'll take my uke to B'fld, of course!~

OK, I'm still thinking. Venus's orbit is nearly circular and it's the brightest natural light in the sky...
it will be something round, light, and beautiful. I'm sure I'll find it at the sonoma market. the drink will be a venus cosmo? Patty

Last Friday will go down in the UFO history books as one of the greatest ever. And how about Fred F. Fallin? Wow, what a performance. I'm just sorry he didn't wear his usual uke uniform, captain's hat, fancy shoes, tie, etc. And Thursday had to be our greatest performance ever. Well done, everyone! Those who missed it better get down to the museum and check it out, it's a once in a lifetime uke experience.

Maybe we should start figuring out what to play for Sept. 8th. I think we have 25 minutes or so and we should time some songs.

We're bringing ratatouille (just saw the movie) and most of the veggies are fresh out of our garden.

In Hawaiian, Venus is known as Ka 'a wela - the hot and lustful. It is associated with overindulgence of food and alcohol. Sounds like every Friday night!

I'll bring my hottest uke, and something spicy.
