What a Friday Night that was huh? Felt almost like a reunion of sorts, along with an introduction of some new friends too! Great kanikapila, kau kau and great Ohana for company. Not to mention the wonderful solos! We are truly blessed.
Mahalo to all for making it such a great night! Ok, so for this week's food theme I'm thinking "Lunar Foods" in honor of:
1969 1st men on Moon, Neil Armstrong & Edwin Aldrin, Apollo 11
So I guess an obvious example would 'Moon Pies' (do they still make that?). Uh, foods resembling a Lunar Surface (Meat Loaf? Look familiar Al?).
Let see, uh, Chinese Moon Cake? Crusty Crater Crab Cakes? Ok, reaching again right? I guess you get the idea.
In fact, isn't a 'New' moon this week?
Oh Yeah, I think this is a good month for Amnesty Birthday month! I think we've got Donley, Uncle Ken, Terumi, Amy . . . any body else out there? Come clean now.
Pluuuuuuuus! I understand that this is Natasha's last work week! Yes, she is about to join the ranks of that privileged group, 'The Retired'. Congratulations Natasha!

Since I saw that moon walk when I was living in Hawaii...I will bring Hawaiian Style Pupus..small round white stuffed lycees and some Moon Cheese and crackers. Maybe something else too!

Well, we see the moon a lot more in the summer, so I'm bringing summer sausage as an appetizer and, since I'm the world's worst baker, the closest I can come to almond moon cookies for dessert.

I was working an all-nighter from Miami to Cleveland with 6 stops. It was called the sunbird. we served ruben sandwiches and a sunbird swizzle cocktail. i'll see what inspires me at the valley of the moon market. patty
