Aloha UFOhana: Janet and I are very interested in going to Ray's Museum after viewing the pics. Whoever is interested, just post here and we'll put a carpool van together, but first have to connect w/ Ray to get a convenient time. Let's do this within the next couple of weeks!

Forwarded from the nice UkeLady, Noel Tardy, from whom I won the Bushman concert in a raffle a while ago.

I'm sending this email to a select few people who I know have discriminating tastes in ukuleles before I offer it to the public.
I am selling this concert Mango Glyph from my personal collection. It is incredibly beautiful and has exquisite craftsmanship. The sound is soft and sweet, clear and has good sustain. You just want to take this uke and cuddle it it! This uke was Dave's personal player before I got it and it is the sister uke of the soprano that Fred Fallin has in his collection. It has had a little play but is in excellent condition.
The pictures that Dave took for his website are far better than any I could take so here is the weblink - http://www.glyphukulele.com/concerts.html
My asking price is $1295 and it comes with a hard-shell case.
I'm parting with a few of my personal ukes due to a recent surgery (I'm fine) and lousy insurance! Hope this one finds a special home!!!

ps - I also have a vintage early 1970's Kamaka Lili'u 6 string for sale for $695. It has a beautiful full sound and a handmade neck before the days of CNC necks.

If you are looking for a kinder genteler ukulele internet forum, try:
http://www.ukulelecosmos.com/
It was started by people who got fed up with the nastiness of some of the other forums. They have recordings, tips, witty repartee and... a live international open mike. Check them out.

Hi Bob,
Sounds like a winner. But why did you post this under 'Ukulele Geeks'?

Steve, The stratovox went under the knife yesterday. It had a crushed brace glued in crooked. I glued up the face cracks (wrinkel removal?) and
glued in a new brace as well as regluing the other brace. Overall I was surprised by the overall quality of construction. The mahogany face has
nice flamey wood and seems to be thin enough to produce a good sound.
The intact braces were nicely finished. It had a kamaka type bridge
reinforcement. I will put in a bridge plate tomorrow. After that I will
refinish the face ( A deep peel) put the bridge back on, then close up
(glue the back on) install new tuners and then see how it plays.
I think this nip tuck job should make a new ukulele out of it. Dave

Hey -
Do you have any pictures of the Stratovox? I found one for sale and I'm curious to know who made it, general quality, sound, etc. (dsrichard@deverne.com)

I sold one to a guy in So. Cal. The Stratovx is a plain Jane Mahogany, probably made by Regal, very average except for the name and the Buck Rogers rocket decal on thge head stock.

Please tell me more about this Stratovox you sold. I have a six string Stratovox (needs some love but not overly much) and it toohas the rocket decal on the head. What did you get for it? What can you tell me about it?? Can't find ANYTHING but this on this make. HELP!

Deb, As stated I think it is a Regal probably from the the late 50s or early 60s made for some marketing company. The tuners were low end, fit and finish were nothing special. The best feature was the Buck Roggers looking decal. A six string must be a guitar or was modified if it is Ukulele length. 21" I don't believe I got much more than $40 for it several years ago.
